Apollo’s £1500 festive charity treat

For the third year running, Apollo has handed over a Christmas cheque to Simon’s Heroes, a Tamworth charity dedicated to raising money for local children with life limiting illnesses.

This year £1500 has been raised from raffle ticket sales at the Apollo Christmas party and the business’ ‘Fit Club’ – an employee-led club set up in 2016 as a way for individuals to lose weight. Members pay each week to get weighed, with an extra fee if they put any on. In addition, Apollo has donated two Christmas hampers and passed on supplier gifts for the charity to use as prizes in future fundraising events.

Apollo Chairman, Jon Saunders, said: “I’m delighted that we are able to continue our support for Simon’s Heroes and thank our colleagues and suppliers for making this possible. The charity does an amazing job to support children in our local community and our latest donation is given with our best wishes at this special time of year.”

Justin Haywood, Chairman, Simon’s Heroes said; “We’d like to say a big thank you to Apollo for its continued support. The money will go towards helping children with life limiting illnesses lead more independent and fulfilling lives. We support children in a wide range of ways from medical to practical and fun activities and we couldn’t do it without the support for businesses like Apollo – the support is very much appreciated.”
