Bannatyne Health Club & Spa in Tamworth has helped make dreams come true for a number of the beneficiaries and their siblings of Simon’s Heroes children’s charity, through its Christmas toy appeal.
The national campaign, Gifts for Kids, was launched at the end of November 2019 and appealed to club members to donate unopened or new, gifts or toys, suitable for children aged 3-10 years old. By way of thanks, Bannatyne Health Club offered each participant a free guest pass to be used at any club during December 2019 and January 2020.
The campaign was a huge success with Bannatyne’s Tamworth receiving over 80 donations! The toys were delivered by members of Simon’s Heroes just in time for Christmas.
Bannatyne’s Sales and Marketing Manager for Tamworth, Hope Howden, helped deliver some of the toys and said: “It was wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of the recipients. A very rewarding experience and we can’t thank our members enough for their kindness and generosity.”
This is the second generous gesture Bannatyne’s Tamworth has made to Simon’s Heroes, who were the main beneficiary of the club’s Easter Egg appeal back in April 2019, which generated over 200 donations for the charity’s children.
Mark Reynolds, General Manager, Bannatyne Health Club & Spa Tamworth, said: “We think it’s fantastic that we can work with such a worthwhile local charity. We look forward to building our relationship with Simon’s Heroes in future events and through fundraising.”
Paul Andrews, trustee of Simon’s Heroes, said: “Thank you once again for choosing us and to Bannatyne’s members for their continued generosity. Our families really do appreciate the thought. What a lovely surprise for our boys and girls.”
