Moonpig donates £2000 to local children’s charity

Moonpig, the UK’s leading online greeting card  and gifting platform, has generously donated £2000 to local children’s charity, Simon’s Heroes.

The donation marks the opening of Moonpig’s new 9200 sqm production facility in Tamworth, which opened in the summer and will provide many new jobs once it is fully operational.

The money was donated from the Moonpig Group Foundation, which was set up in 2021 to help make a difference to local communities, by providing time and financial support to relevant organisations and causes that spark moments of joy – in line with Moonpig’s mission.

Simon’s Heroes was nominated and chosen by Moonpig employees from a pool of shortlisted charities.

‘We are delighted to have been selected as Moonpig’s local charity of choice in Tamworth,’ said Justin Haywood, Chairman, Simon’s Heroes. ‘The money will go towards a big project which is due to start at the end of this year, which involves the refurbishment of the sensory room at Two Rivers Special School in Tamworth. The project will benefit over 120 pupils who have a range of learning and physical disabilities and associated difficulties such as autism and sensory impairment.’

Mick Perry, Moonpig Production Lead said: ‘We are very happy that we can support such a fantastic local charity and look forward to hearing more about the project as it progresses.’

The Moonpig Group have a set goal to invest £1 million between 2020-2026, leveraging the Moonpig Group Foundation to causes that spark moments of joy.
