World renowned golf resort launches new charity partnership

Local children’s charity, Simon’s Heroes, is delighted to have been chosen as The Belfry Hotel & Resort’s official charity partner for 2019.

The world renowned, award-winning spa and golf complex will support the charity for a period of 12-months, during which time its employees will fundraise as well as volunteer their time to the cause.

Chloe Hamer, HR Administrator, The Belfry, said: ‘We wanted to support a local charity which offered opportunities for our employees to become actively involved. Simon’s Heroes hosts a number of events that would allow exactly that, such as their annual trail run and beneficiary projects.’

The leading golf resort teed off their fundraising over the Christmas period and has already raised a fantastic £1700 from their Christmas jumper day, silent auction and staff Christmas party. Further fundraising initiatives will include quiz and curry nights as well as raffles and ticketed in-house events.

The Belfry has raised thousands to date through their partnership scheme, most recently for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, which they supported for several years. Every 12 months a new charity partner will be sought through a business-wide ballot of employees.

‘We are really excited about our new partnership with Simon’s Heroes and are looking forward to working closely with the charity over the coming months, encouraging our employees to get involved in supporting this fantastic cause.’ Chloe Hamer.

Justin Haywood, Trustee of Simon’s Heroes, said: ‘We are very much looking forward to working with The Belfry and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who voted for us and to those who will be raising vital funds and giving their time. The fantastic amount already raised will help us make a difference. Thank you!’

Simon’s Heroes is a Tamworth-based charity that aims to improve the quality of life and make a positive difference to children with life limiting illnesses.
