A housebuilder has recently made a £200 donation to a local charity which aims to improve the lives of children in need.
Bellway – which is building new homes at Peels Meadow and Barley Fields in Tamworth – reached out to Simon’s Heroes to make a contribution to the charity, after hearing of the great work that they do for the community.
Simon’s Heroes – based in Hockley, Tamworth – was founded when a group of old friends reunited to honour the memory of their friend by holding a charity football tournament in 2013.
The charity now operates as a local fitness organisation, where membership fees go towards helping children with life-limiting illnesses live more fulfilling lives.
The charity raises money through their sponsored events, including obstacle runs, family days, quiz nights and galas. These events help them to provide these children with resources and opportunities that are not always available through the NHS and other funding routes.
Chairman of Simon’s Heroes, Justin Haywood, said: “We can’t thank you enough for your kind donation, it really will make a difference.”
West Midlands Sales Director, Marie Richards, said: “We are very proud to be supporting a charity that has been doing wonderful things for local children in need for a few years now. We aim to support local charities and organisations however we can. And we hope that by contributing and working together, we will be able to make positive differences throughout the community.”
