A fundraising quiz night has raised £800 for local children’s charity, Simon’s Heroes.
The event, organised by members of the charity, was held at Hopwas Social Club on July 1st and hosted by comedian compére Darren Mortiboy.
10 teams comprising local business people and members of the public pitted their wits against each other at what was an excellent and fun event. The evening included several rounds of quiz questions, a jacket potato, charity raffle, auction and Heads and Tails game, prizes for which were kindly donated by members of the community and local businesses including Drayton Manor, Planters Garden Centre and the SnowDome.
Charlotte Bull, trustee of Simon’s Heroes said: ‘Local events like this along with individual efforts help raise vital funds and the profile of our charity. Everyone had a great time! I’d like to thank all those who attended and donated and to Hopwas Social Club and Darren Mortiboy for their support in making it such a successful evening. The money will help us continue to make a difference to the lives of local children in need.’
