Simon’s Heroes would like to say a big Thank You to Stephan, Di and Chloe Couture who are fundraising for Simon’s Heroes through their latest challenge which is the Superhero Series Triathlon at Dorney Lake on the 19th August.
Eleven year old Chloe who has cerebal palsy and sight problems has been attracting attention and melting hearts all over the country since she starting competing with her dad.
It started when Dad Stephan who has always kept fit and active, tracked down an all terrain buggy that could manage cross country routes for Chloe to ride in. They successfully completed their first 5k run in 2011 and have since tackled many sporting events together.
With Chloe developing in leaps and bounds and loving the outdoors, Stephan a keen cyclist, introduced cycling to their regime. The buggy can be attached to his bike by removing the buggy front wheel enabling Chloe to take part.
This left only one more discipline to overcome – the swimming. Chloe wearing a life jacket and wetsuit is towed along in a kayak by her dad.
They have successfully completed triathlons together and even smashed our own Abbott Trail Run in July this year.
The Triathlon at Dorney Lake is part of the UK’s one and only disability sport series for the Everyday Superhero where people with disabilities call the shots and don’t have to worry about cut-off times or equipment restrictions. You can fly solo or team up with disabled and non-disabled family and friends to do as much or as little as you like with as much support as you need. To find out more visit www.superheroseries.co.uk
