Charity football match kicks off fundraising for Tamworth engineering company

Precision Technologies International (PTI) has raised a fantastic £1011 with a fun but competitive employee football match in aid of Simon’s Heroes children’s charity.

It is one of a range of fundraisers organised by the company’s employees for Simon’s Heroes which is PTI’s nominated Charity of the Year for 2023. There was fierce but friendly competition between the teams for the Dave Belcher Cup, in honour of a former employee. Families and friends were there to cheer them on at the match on 16 June at Sutton Coldfield Town Football Club.

Director Colin Palin said: “What a fantastic evening, well done to all who participated, not just the players but all who helped in the run up to the match, helpers on the evening, commentary, the mascots, the many supporters & all who contributed.  A special thanks to the captains John & Paul who were the main drivers & organisers of the event. Finally a huge congratulations to the Mariner Mavericks who won the match.”

Charlotte Abbott, Chairman, Simon’s Heroes said: “We are delighted with the amount that has been raised so far. Huge thanks to everyone that gave their time to take part to raise money for our cause. We will use the money towards an application we are currently processing for a five-year-old boy who has a number of conditions including autism, hearing and sight impairment. He needs a specialist car seat and pushchair to help make life that little bit easier for him and his family. It is thanks to the generosity of companies like PTI and its employees that we are able to make a difference to families coping with debilitating illnesses. We are truly grateful for your support.”
