Charity quiz night raises £728!

Generous quizzers have boosted the coffers of a Tamworth children’s charity by more than £700, thanks to an evening of brain teasing fun.

Simon’s Heroes would like to thank the award-winning, Tamworth-based Central Hub Logistics for their generous donation of £728, raised through a quiz night organised by the transport company at the Globe Inn last month.

All money raised from the evening was donated to the charity to help it to continue its work; providing resources and opportunities to local children with life-limiting illnesses.

Attendees at the event enjoyed a fish and chip supper and ice-cream, the latter kindly donated by Sticky Fingers Catering, followed by a tough set of quiz questions. Further funds were raised through a heads and tails game and a raffle which concluded the evening.

Steve Bridgen, Owner and Managing Director of Central Hub Logistics, said: ‘It gives us an enormous amount of pleasure to say that our quiz night was a massive success! It was a fun night and we had such positive feedback. Thank you to my lovely wife Diane for organising the event and to Sandra and Brian Long who were fantastic quiz masters! Thanks to The Globe Inn for hosting it – the food and service were exceptional and to Carol at Sticky Fingers Catering for her delicious homemade ice-cream! Thank you to everyone who attended the evening, you all helped us raise a great amount for our beloved Simon’s Heroes, a very inspirational and worthwhile cause.’

Central Hub Logistics has been a supporter of Simon’s Heroes for a number of years, regularly donating the water supply for runners participating in the charity’s annual Abbott Trail Run.

Paul Andrews, Trustee of Simon’s Heroes said: ‘It was a fantastic evening with a great atmosphere. We are immensely grateful to Central Hub Logistics for their ongoing support in helping us raise important funds for local children in need.’
