Employees at Apollo have generously donated over £1000 to their charity partner, Simon’s Heroes, a local charity dedicated to raising money for local children with life limiting illnesses.
Over £500 was raised at the Apollo Christmas party, where staff generously bought raffle tickets. The rest of the donations came from the Apollo ‘Fit Club’, an employee-led club set up in 2016 as a way for individuals to lose weight. The individuals pay each week to get weighed, with an extra fee if they put any on.
Apollo further surprised Simon’s Heroes by donating a Christmas hamper and various supplier gifts received in the run up to Christmas, something that will come in very handy for the raffles at the numerous Simon’s Heroes events held throughout the year.
Jon Saunders, Apollo Chairman, comments: ‘I’m blown away with our employee’s generosity. With ‘Care’ being one of our core values, we feel it is vital to give back to the local community. I’m delighted that we can continue to support Simon’s Heroes, a local charity that really makes a difference to improving quality of life and making a difference to local children in need.’
