Punters dig deep and raise £1500 for children’s charity

A sell-out virtual horse race night at The Globe Inn Tamworth, has raised £1500 for local children’s charity, Simon’s Heroes.

The fundraiser, hosted by Simon’s Heroes and compere Nigel Crane, on 10th November, included a fish & chip supper, 6 thrilling races, a Grand Auction and raffle.

Charlotte Abbott, Chairman, said: ‘It was a fantastic evening, filled with camaraderie, laughter and spirited competition. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of the attendees.

‘Thank you to everyone that supported and helped organise the evening. We had some wonderful raffle prize donations, courtesy of a number of local businesses and individuals, which helped add a substantial amount to the charity pot.

‘Special thanks to The Globe Inn, for the use of their fantastic facilities and delicious food and our race sponsors, Coppice Lifestyle, The FSG, Scolmore Group, Philip Barnes & Co Ltd, SC Fitness and Moor Hall Hotel & Spa.

‘The money raised will help us continue our mission to provide resources and opportunities for local children with additional needs.’
