Members of local charity, Simon’s Heroes, recently paid a visit to PCE Ltd’s head office in Tamworth, to thank its employees for their continued fundraising efforts over the last 12 months.
Employees have raised a fantastic £6,600, bringing the overall total to £16,600 since the partnership began in May 2018!
During 2019, PCE employees took part in a range of activities to help support Simon’s Heroes, which included:
- Simon’s Heroes 5k/10k Abbott Trail Run – a number of PCE employees successfully completed this annual running event through Hopwas Woods, and raised hundreds for the charity.
- Annual PCE Family Barbecue – where a number of internal fundraising activities were held, such as a duck race.
- PCE’s Festive Friday event – which took place in December and featured a children’s colouring competition, judged by members from Simon’s Heroes.
- Zip wire challenge – a group of daredevil ladies from PCE travelled all the way to Snowdonia to take on the world’s fastest zip wire, and raised an amazing £2,234!
In addition, further funds were generated from dress down day, which is held on the last Friday of every month.
Thanks to the hard work of PCE employees, Simon’s Heroes has been able to purchase equipment which has helped to support local children in need, including:
- A Sensory Lodge – gifted to Two Rivers Primary School, Tamworth
- A cruiser wheelchair for 14-year-old Lewis, who has microcephaly, a rare neurological condition, which affects his mobility and learning capacity.
- A specialist bike trailer for 10-year-old Ruby, who can now enjoy days out with her family. Ruby has a number of conditions including cerebral palsy, autism and hydrocephalus, which has affected her global development.
Nickie Brown, Managing Director commented: “We are once again so proud of our employees’ approach to raising funds and supporting their chosen charity, Simon’s Heroes.
“A huge well done to everyone who has supported the charity and helped PCE to make a difference in the local community #proud #teampce.”
Justin Haywood, Chairman of Simon’s Heroes said: “We are truly blown away by another fantastic amount of money that PCE has raised for our cause. Thanks so much to every employee that contributed, you are amazing and we really appreciate your efforts.”
